The Meeting Point – Olivia Lara

What if the Lift driver who finds your cheating boyfriend’s phone holds the directions to true love?

‘Who are you and why do you have my boyfriend’s phone?’

‘He left it in my car. You must be the blonde in the red dress? I’m the Lift driver who dropped you two off earlier.’

And with these words, the life of the brunette and t-shirt wearing Maya Maas is turned upside down. Having planned to surprise her boyfriend, she finds herself single and stranded in an unknown city on her birthday.

So when the mystery driver rescues Maya with the suggestion that she cheers herself up at a nearby beach town, she jumps at the chance to get things back on track. She wasn’t expecting a personalised itinerary or the easy companionship that comes from opening up to a stranger via text, let alone the possibility it might grow into something more…

Come on this 5* journey to love, laughter and back again, perfect for fans of Mhairi McFarlane, Josie Silver and Sally Thorne.

Today is my stop on The Meeting Point blog tour, thanks to TheWriteReads, Olivia Lara and Aria Books.

This book was a great read, and although you could guess the outcome quite early on, it was fun seeing how the story would unfold.

Maya flies out to surprise her boyfriend she gets a shock when she discovers that he is cheating on her. She then spends the day in a beach town in the company of the Lift driver, via text message. Maya has the perfect day and she and the mystery man on the end of the phone agree to meet but before they have the chance Maya’s boyfriend turns up and she returns to her normal life. Except this day plays on her mind until she finally stands up to the cheating boyfriend and her boss and leaves to return to Carmel to unearth who it was she ‘met’ a year ago.

This book is a typical romance and one that brings a smile to your face, especially when Maya starts standing up for herself and chasing the things she believes in.

The characters I found great and the relationships that Maya builds in Carmel, especially with twins Celine and Ethan. Carmel, where the majority of the book is set, sounds such a gorgeous place and this books makes you want to head straight there.

I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more books by Olivia

The Meeting Point is a feel-good romance perfect for the summer.
